Have you ever wondered how the money raised by Tri-County United Way is divided among our supported agencies?
Each year a group of volunteer community members get together to form our Allocations Committee. These committee members visit our agencies to see how their work is changing lives every day. They also attend presentations from the staff, Board members, and volunteers of each agency to learn about the financial needs of their programs. The committee members use the information they gather from these visits and presentations to determine how much of the Tri-County United Way annual campaign will be distributed to each agency.
The work of the Allocations Committee is what makes Tri-County United Way’s fundraising truly special. The disbursement of money raised is determined by these volunteers who live and work right in the communities that TCUW supports.
