FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
TRI-COUNTY UNITED WAY SET TO BEGIN HELPING VICTIMS AFFECTED BY COVID-19 PANDEMIC THROUGH COVID-19 COMMUNITY RESPONSE FUND.
The Tri-County United Way COVID-19 Community Response Fund will support relief efforts of organizations addressing unmet basic needs as a result of the corona virus. Designed to provide additional, critical funding and resources to existing assistance programs and local nonprofit agencies, the fund will help people in Warren, Washington and Northern Saratoga Counties.
“Our local nonprofit agencies are quickly becoming overwhelmed by the rapid growth in requests for basic needs and often, from families who have never required assistance before. We are committed to providing them assistance as soon as possible.” Said Duane Vaughn, Executive Director. 100% of the funds donated will be distributed. The first allocation of funds will be used to help food pantries respond to a rapidly-growing demand for food and commodities. Additional allotments will be made in the coming weeks. Tri-County United Way board committee headed by Judge David Krogmann will oversee the funds and their distribution. The committee will determine the specific requirements and the process for providing payments from the fund.
The total amount in the fund, contributors to the fund and use and impact of the fund allocations will be available at www.tricountyunitedway.org. Donors may donate online to the COVID-19 Community Response Fund at tricountyunitedway.org/donate or send checks to Tri-County United Way, 696 Upper Glen Street, Queensbury, NY 12804. Please note your contribution to the COVID-19 Community Response Fund on your check.
