As of today, the Fund has raised over $28,000 and continues to fundraise to respond to the growing need. $21,000 in grants have been deployed. Individual donors contributed more than $20,000. Generous in-kind donations from the Post-Star and Irving Tissue seeded our Fund.
In our most recent deployments, the Fund provided support to the following organizations:
Adirondack Samaritan – $3,250 for assistance in co-pays and counseling services for clients who may be unemployed or unable to pay during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Family Services Association – $5,000 for emergency rents, utilities and consumer transportation.
Big Brothers Big Sisters of The Southern Adirondacks – $5,000 for continued service for little brothers and sisters who are in need of mentoring during the pandemic.
Glens Falls Senior Center – $1,200 for continued services and outreach to seniors who may be homebound.
NearCare – $1,600 for four months of insurance coverage so that the agency may continue to serve families with terminally ill members.
Habitat for Humanity – $5,000 for mortgage relief for Habitat homeowners that are facing economic hardship.
