WHAT ARE TRI-COUNTY UNITED WAY’S LEADERRSHIP COMMITTEES?
Tri-County United Way encourages societal and business leaders to give, advocate and volunteer with us throughout the communities of Northern Saratoga, Warren, and Washington Counties. Our Leadership Committees does this by providing these high-impact, local-minded leaders with opportunities to share ideas, build relationships and inspire commitment to improve communities throughout our Tri-County region. Leadership Committee members are also ambassadors for Tri-County United Way, using their networks to connect with other philanthropists and thought-leaders who are driving social change.
COMMUNITY INVESTMENT COMMITTEE
Yearly Tri-County United Way provides funding to local programs that have proven community effectiveness. Through a process we call ‘Community Investment’ volunteers lead the review of funding requests, program outcomes, financial data and past performance. This committee kicks off in February and continues through June. Volunteers should be able to commit to monthly meetings of one or more hours, as well as site visits to local nonprofits.
518 DAY COMMITTEE
Tri-County United Way’s 518 Day Committee offers chances for individuals to contribute to the creation of a more engaged & kinder region throughout May. Regional volunteerism through a variety of initiatives is celebrated throughout the month of May, specifically on May 18th (5/18 Day). Volunteers should be able to commit to bi-monthly meetings November through May. Read
SPECIAL EVENTS COMMITTEE
Members of our Special Events Committee assist Tri-County United Way staff and board with event planning, solicit sponsorship donations and raffle/silent auction items. These members also help spread the word about our events. Volunteers should be able to commit to bi-monthly meetings & attendance at events.
CAMPAIGN COMMITTEE
Our Campaign Committee helps implement comprehensive development strategy efforts for workplace campaigns, donor relations and cultivation, affinity groups, and planning giving to ensure the ongoing financial vitality of Tri-County United Way.
