Stuff the Bus
Each Fall, we Live United by seeking enough food donations to literally stuff a bus! In collaboration with Community, Work and Independence (CWI) and other local nonprofits, we collect food throughout the month of October at various locations throughout the tri-county area. Then, for two days in November, volunteers collect food outside Price Chopper on Upper Glen Street in Queensbury and stuff the bus! The food collected is then distributed to local food pantries to help stock up for the colder weather.
Last year we collected over 2.5 tons of food!
We are always looking for businesses to set up a food collection site in their location as well as for individuals to volunteer to STUFF THE BUS! For more information on how you can help, contact our office at (518) 793-3136.
We are proud to participate each year in the The Post Star Holiday parade in South Glens Falls. Together with our friends from SERVPRO, we collect food and monetary donations throughout the parade route. All donations are brought to area food pantries just in time for the busy Thanksgiving season.
Together with our friends at Gracenote, we host the Annual Summer Slam Classic Golf Tournament at Airway Meadows Golf Club in Gansevoort every June. The tournament is 4-person scramble with a shotgun start. The cost is $85 per golfer and includes golf, cart, beverages, lunch, and dinner following the tournament.
