Family Service Association (FSA) of Glens Falls is a non-profit organization that has been a cornerstone of support for individuals and families in the greater Glens Falls area for over 115 years. FSA has consistently worked to enhance the well-being of the community by offering a broad range of essential social services that help families navigate life’s challenges and build brighter futures.

Founded with the mission of strengthening families, FSA has a long-standing tradition of providing vital support to those in need. Over the years, the organization has grown and evolved, continually adapting its services to meet the changing needs of the community. Compassionate Support from a Small, Dedicated Team
With just three full-time staff members, a Board of Directors composed of eight members, and many dedicated volunteers, the heart of FSA’s work lies in its deep commitment to compassion, empowerment, and community. This small but mighty team provides personalized support to families facing various challenges, including financial hardship, mental health issues, housing instability, and more.
Comprehensive Services to Address Critical Needs
FSA offers a variety of services to assist families in crisis and foster long-term resilience. These services include:
- Case management and financial education
- Emergency assistance for special needs, RX, transportation referrals, vision and hearing programs
- A food pantry
- Infant needs programs
One of the organization’s standout initiatives is its Feet First program, which provides new shoes to students heading off to school. During the holiday season, FSA also hosts Adopt A Family, a program that offers toys, gifts, and food for local schoolchildren and families in need.
Making a Difference in the Community
Through its various programs, FSA has made a lasting impact on the Glens Falls area. In 2024, the Family Service Association addressed 3,649 cases and helped support over 10,134 individuals in need. Of the cases referred to FSA, 75% were successfully resolved, with 50% of the cases supporting housing and utilities, 15% focused on transportation, and 35% addressing needs for household items and clothing.
FSA’s holistic approach to care helps clients gain access to essential resources and connects them to additional community services. By empowering families and promoting self-sufficiency, the organization not only addresses immediate needs but also works toward fostering long-term stability and healthy family dynamics.
