Impact of the COVID-19 Community

Generous in-kind donations from the Post-Star and Irving Tissue seeded our Fund.

In our most recent deployments, the Fund provided support to the following organizations:

  • Adirondack Samaritan – $3,250 for assistance in co-pays and counseling services for clients who may be unemployed or unable to pay during the COVID-19 pandemic
  • Family Services Association – $5,000 for emergency rents, utilities and consumer transportation
  • Big Brothers Big Sisters of The Southern Adirondacks – $5,000 for continued service for little brothers and sisters who are in need of mentoring during the pandemic
  • Glens Falls Senior Center – $1,200 for continued services and outreach to seniors who may be homebound
  • NearCare – $1,600 for four months of insurance coverage so that the agency may continue to serve families with terminally ill members
  • Alliance for Positive Health  – $500 for clients who need emergency financial assistance 
  • Freedom Machines – $1,500 for refurbishing bikes for people committed to recovery from addictions
  • Habitat for Humanity – $5,000 for mortgage relief for Habitat homeowners that are facing economic hardship
  • Doreen’s Soup Kitchen -$2,500 to offset rent and utilities costs
  • Salvation Army – $7,500 to supplement significant increase in demand for emergency food for seniors, the homeless and families in need
  • Residence Services of America – Village Green Apartments – $500 for materials to re-build garden beds so residents can grow fruits and vegetables to supplement food supplies
  • Kee to Independent Growth – $1,000 for laptops so they can continue providing services virtually to individuals with disabilities in the tri-county area
  • Things of My Very Own – $2,000 in support of providing crisis intervention services to children impacted by abuse and/or neglect
  • The Ben Osborn Memorial Fund – $1,000 in support of their “Give Kids a Little Lift” program
  • Village Green Community Garden – $500 for supplies for their community garden
  • Pitney Bowes Community Farm – $1500  to extend the growing season for distribution to schools in Saratoga and Warren counties.
  • Open Door Mission – $5000 for their food pantry in Warren County
