Tri-County United Way commends the community’s united efforts to make the 5-1-8 Day a resounding success. Throughout the month of May 2023, the event highlighted the extraordinary dedication and selflessness of individuals and groups, as they generously supported local initiatives throughout Warren, Washington, and Northern Saratoga Counties.
Schools, partner agencies, and regional businesses got involved with a number of Tri-County United Way’s 5-1-8 Day initiatives by participating in our ‘United In Kindness’ initiative where students wrote a number of kindness cards and appreciation letters to honor our senior community. Students also visited with senior citizens at local senior homes to assist with small projects.
Throughout the month of May students also cleaned up local communities throughout Warren, Washington, and Northern Saratoga Counties – specifically in Washington County throughout Fort Ann and Hartford.
Businesses also participated in 5-1-8 Day by hosting a number of events including food drives throughout the month of May. Overall, local businesses and communities collected over $750 worth of non-perishable food items which directly benefited our partner agencies and hundreds of local families throughout our Tri-County region.
These acts of kindness and community engagement have demonstrated the power of unity and the positive impact that can be achieved when individuals come together for a shared purpose. United, we can do more.
